CPR/AED

The course on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. It includes training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and covers the latest CPR guidelines. The course offers training suitable for the workplace or general interest.

Level C:

  • The First Aider’s Role
  • Check, Call, Care
  • H.A.IN.E.S. Recovery Position
  • Choking—Adult, Child & Infant
  • Assisting with Medications
  • Angina and Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • CPR—Adult, Child, Infant
  • Deadly Bleeding

Level HCP:

  • Level C content
  • Jaw thrust
  • Pulse check
  • Rescue breathing—adult, child, and baby BVM—adult, child, and baby
  • Two rescuer CPR—adult, child, baby

Duration:

Level A: 4 hours, Level C: 5 hours, Level HCP: 6 hours

Instructor:

Red Cross First Aid Instructor or Instructor Trainer

Completion Requirements:

100% attendance

Certification:

Skills demonstration. 75% passing grade on written exam 3-year certification

Recertification:

Level A: not available; Level C and HCP: 4 hours
